The Teton spur
After an enthusiastic recommendation from a cyclist we met in Yellowstone (roryrides.com) we took another small diversion in to the Grand Tetons national park.
The 20 mile or so trip off the route is well worth it for the beautiful camping spot at Jenny Lake and the amazing ride toward these mountains which seem to burst up out of nowhere. Not only was this the best post-ride lake swim yet because of the fantastic backdrop but we were joined by a huge stag Elk which came down to take a drink while we were cooling off.
Usually I’m against one-way diversions which have to be re-ridden on the way back, but this time, I think it’s definitely worth the trip. Cheers Rory!
