Hit the Road

Our most recent trip started in June 2022 from Banff, Canada, following the Divide Trail south to Fernie, before heading west to join the BC Trail all the way to Vancouver.

  • After 21 days of riding we have made it! Covering 1001 miles from Banff to Vancouver, we arrive in the sunshine and still smiling!

  • Shortish highway ride to Chilliwack.

  • Staying in the town of Hope, where Rambo was filmed in 1982! Did you ever wonder what John Rambo would look like carved in wood?

    7 Jul 2022 18:34

  • We’ve gone as far as we can on the Rail Trail. The KVR past Princeton was washed out by storms last year so we have some highway riding to get us the rest of the way. Still managed to find this beautiful camp spot by Copper Creek, just a stones throw from the highway.

  • Met so many other cyclists camping at Chain Lake Rex site. Our final pass on the Rail Trail, finishing in the warmest lake swim yet!

    3 Jul 2022 18:43

  • Rail trail out of Castlegar includes trestle bridges and tunnels and terrific views over Arrow Lake. Longest tunnel is over 900m long, a record breaker in its day.

    30 Jun 2022 11:34

  • Expected rain and river floods today, but the weather stayed dry and so did the trail. Very narrow sandy trail today hugging the bank of the Columbia River through thick undergrowth.

    29 Jun 2022 20:03

  • Rail trail out of Nelson through the pretty towns of Ymir and Salmo. Bit of highway riding with terrible headwind in afternoon. Beautiful campsite in Beaver Creek, careful dip in the river to cool down after another hot day.

  • Lunch at Salmo

    28 Jun 2022 13:40
